Hello all,
I love Tinderbox, and I have spent many hours taking advantage of the
user community resources available (thank you!!!). I've also spent
many more hours trying to bend and twist TB to do things - sometimes
painfully simple-seeming things.

Nik makes an excellent point. Working in an application that is is
not standards compliant can be frustrating. I would love to be able
to control TB externally with Applescript, utilize Services, etc.
Yes, I can click here, do this, export to that and then drag
something else and have TB integrate with my workflow manually. And,
because I love using it, I probably will. But many people can't or
won't do that. Perhaps we should listen to the comments for what
they are. TB is a great product, but it's not perfect. It needs
interface changes and updates. The text export is powerful but not
intuitive or quick for the novice. TB needs to utilize some Cocoa
goodness.

These suggestions are not attacks on a good product, they are the
fervent wishes of a devoted user. I would love to spend all day
working in email and TB, but I can't. I use Quicksilver and
Applescript a lot (a whole lot), which play seamlessly with others.
But they can't play with TB. Does that mean I won't use it? Not in
the short term. Does that mean I don't like it? No, TB is the only
way to do some of the things I want to do. For a visual writer like
myself, there's nothing better than TB. However, it may mean that TB
will be stuck serving a community who is willing to put up with and
defend it's idiosyncrasies because they believe in the product.

Regards,
Scott Palmer
