On the other hand....

J. Nathan Matias's wonderful demonstration here,

http://www.rubberpaw.com/posts/tinderbo.html

pointed to recently on Mark Bernstein's site, is a reminder
that the choice of XML as the file format for Tinderbox
documents opens things up in a different way (see also
the TinderToolBox at
http://www.maparent.ca/tinderbox/tindertoolbox.html).

On the third hand, this is another example of Tinderbox
brilliance marred by maddeningly obtuse design: change
a single character in one of your notes and wait a minute
or several to save, while the program regenerates the entire
XML file (which, to belabor this point, should be an option for
an export format, not working storage). This is another good
reason for being able to use external editors.
