Xiph.Org Video Presentation on Digital Signal Processing

Superbly presented and organized information. A great tutorial that effectively banishes the widely held myths about how digital music (compact discs, etc.) works. If you have a friend who blathers on about how LPs sound better because of the music “between the samples” that is missing from CDs or other digitally recorded sound, try to get him to watch this.

This presentation is by no means one of those annoying instructional videos that would be far better as a page of text. Here the presenter, who speaks engagingly, clearly, and without verbal tics or mannerisms, sets up test equipment on a bench and shows you what he’s taking about in real time. This is worth 20 minutes of your day even if you already know the material.
