Turkey Fines TV Broadcaster for Simpsons Episode

Turkey continues its slide into islamist dictatorship. The latest high-profile outrage finds the government imposing a $30,000 fine on a TV station for airing an episode of the Simpsons that they considered to be blasphemous. The dangerous episode contains scenes of God taking orders from the devil, including a scene where the latter asks God to make him a coffee.

According to one report “The episode in question was the Halloween special ‘Treehouse of Horrors XXII,’ that originally aired in the US in October last year.”

I haven’t watched the Simpsons in years, but this sounds pretty funny. I’m tempted to look for a place online where I can study this particular approach to blasphemy.
