India is not a Democracy

Any country that has laws allowing the government to throw people in jail for “deliberately hurting religious feelings,” and applies them to someone for the crime of exposing another fake Catholic “miracle,” is not a Democracy in any meaningful sense of the term, no matter how many elections it has.

India still, by the way, bans import of the Satanic Verses, long after the Iranian death warrant against its author has been lifted.
