Dear Oliver
I can certainly identify with some of the problems you have noted on
your page. Links that move around is one I come up against a lot. So is
the difficulty with editing linktext. But I have never had any problems
with overlapping links.
I do not have tabular data, so that is not an issue for me. For lists,
are you using TB's built in list-handling abilities? They make life
very simple, although there are problems with defining the end of a
list. I find I need at least one character, -- even -- to ensure
that a list closes correctly. If ytou don't like that, it is also very
easy to use macros to establish the lists and items within that, which
gives extra flexibility for putting lists into different CSS classes.
Multiple files versus a single file is a long-standing discussion. I
like to use autmoatic colouring of notes and the background in Map
views to make sure I know which file I am in.
Basiclinks worked for me in a trial, but I no longer use it.
On the bigger question of how to USE TB to maximum effectiveness,
places like this and the WIKI are the best source of ideas. It is so
powerful that no one user can hope to explore all the possibilities.
Often just seeing, even tangentially, what other people are doing can
prompt new ideas and uses.
