I ran into the same problem myself when kludging and RTF exporter out
of the HTML exporter. \r comes up quite a bit since the back-tick is
used for mark-up in RTF. I ended up having to use \R in the templates,
and then running the output files through sed to lowercase the \r. Not
that hard once you have it all set up, but still it was kind of
annoying, but it works if you cannot come up with another solution.
