Soyuz TMA-08M Coverage on NASA TV

The launchof Soyuz TMA-08M, carrying one US and two Russian astronauts to a 5.5 month mission at the ISS, was a blastto watch on NASA TV. One of many fascinating details was that one of the astronauts had to push buttons, while strapped into his chair in the capsule, with a metal stick. That, and watching two of the astronauts reading through reams of paper during the ascent, seemed like an oddly incongruous mixture of high and low tech.
