Introduction to Ponding

Here is my brief introduction to building and maintaining a backyard fish pond. I am by no means an expert, but my better half and I have been strangely successful with our own pond, due largely to information generously provided by people on the internet. I've collected here pointers to that information, and added my own experiences.

Generally speaking, you want to dig a hole, fill it with water, and add fish and plants. You need to take steps to maintain water quality. And presumably, since you are here, you know that it is helpful to gather information. You can make some of what you'll need yourself, but now and then you have to buy stuff.
